Acupuncture

Line separator

A form of treatment within Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses hair-thin needles at specific acupressure points in the body, in association with Qi and the meridians/pathways.

The goal of each treatment will be specific to the patient, however, the main principle is to place the needles in these acupressure points to balance the Yin & Yang aspects within the body via the meridians/pathways.

Tui Na

Similar to Shiatsu massage, Tui Na (pronounced Twee Nah) is an ancient form of deep tissue massage based on traditional Chinese medicine. The main goal of Tui Na massage is to create balance in the body by removing blockages and disturbances that can manifest as illness, disease and emotional issues.

Following the same principles as Acupuncture, Tui Na massage utilizes the same energetic meridians and acupoints in the body to create harmony and balance.

Depending on your practitioner as well as your specific needs, various techniques will be used in a session. Some treatments can be deep tissue focused, whereas others can be light and energetic.

Cupping

Another alternative therapy that also originated in China, cupping involves placing glass cups on the skin to create suction that may facilitate healing with blood flow.

During a session, a cup is placed on the skin then heated or suctioned onto the skin via fire, alcohol, herbs or paper. When the hot cup is placed on the skin, the air inside creates a vacuum drawing the skin and muscle upward into the cup.

Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed, which may lead to a decrease in muscle tension due to the increased blood flow and increased cell repair that goes along with that.

Registered Massage Therapy

Utilizing Swedish massage techniques, massage therapy is a hands on manipulation of the body's soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments) that aid in tissue repair and overall well-being.

By acting on the muscular, nervous, and circulatory systems, a massage therapy session can be overall, a very therapeutic experience.

A registered massage therapist has extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and will tailor each treatment according to your specific needs. Before your first treatment, a therapist will conduct a full body assessment and personalized treatment plan based on your health history.

Cosmetic Acupuncture

Line separator

A more natural approach to skin longevity, cosmetic acupuncture relies on the same principles of traditional

Chinese medicine; to reflect health & beauty on the outside, your inner health must also be considered. While Cosmetic Acupuncture can be seen as an aesthetic treatment, the principals of Acupuncture will consider the whole body in the treatment as well.

Blood flow and circulation from a full body approach addresses multiple factors of ageing – from smoothing lines, to enhancing the firmness and volume of skin. Using even thinner needles on the face than applied to the body, each session aims to improve the skin's ability to heal, and therefore promote cell rejuvenation and collagen production for healthier, younger looking skin.
